Well, it seems that John Odom, who is now the proud new pitcher of the Laredo Broncos of the United League found out that net worth, is in the eyes of the beholder.
See John was traded last week to the Calgary Vipers of the Golden Baseball League. What is the current market value for a Class A pitcher with three years experience? 10 - 34-inch Maple Bats or somewhere around $65. Odom said, “It’ll make a better story if I make it to the big leagues.” Nice take, but let’s be realistic, you’re a 26 year old pitcher and been in Class A ball for three years. Though we here at C-N-N will be rooting for you, we are not holding our collective breath. We are just looking at the writing on the wall; your whole three year career was just summed up to be 10 baseball bats. At least they were maple bats and you have a chance to get the last laugh when they all break after a few games. Broncos general manager Jose Melendez said, “It will be interesting to see what 10 bats gets us.” Well, Jose, if the latest MLB news is any indication, you’ll probably be getting a law suit when one of those maple bats that are so coveted lately in up in the stands. Hey, we understand though, do whatever it takes for the team. Well, Mr. John Odom, you can say one thing though. You got your 15 minutes of fame, including a 5 minute interview on ESPN First Take. Now you just need to get the Laredo Broncos web site to update your stats.
